The basic instrument rating course is aimed at Pilots with a Private Pilot License without aeronautical experience in instrument flight and they wish to obtain a rating that allows them to fly in IFR to a 200 -feet decision height, with a minimum cloud base at 600 feet and a minimum visibility of 1500 meters.
BIR rating is focused for pilots who do not have professional aspirations, since it is not valid for professional flight. Nor it is valid outside the European sphere. In order to avoid these restrictions we recommend the instrument rating IR(A) recognized worldwide and without restrictions on flight license superiors than the PPL (A).
The BIR rating will be restricted to be used only on day flights, unless a night rating is on the License before starting the course.
This course has a theoretical part and a flight training part.
This course can be initiated at any time and adapt to the student's availability.
The training provided during the course covers the official program, offering the chance to attend individual classes. The syllabus is divided into seven subjects: Air law, Aircraft general knowledge, Performance and Flight Planning, Human Factors, Meteorology, Navigation and Communications.
This theoretical part can be done in a basic instrument rating distance theoretical course online.
Being a course by competencies, there are no minimum of flight hours to be flown. In any case, due to the complexity of the operations, the most normal is to complete it with a flight instruction between 30 and 60 hours.
It is recommended to have a certain English base, since both the study material and the official exams are in English.
Paternal authorization is needed for minor students.
Must have at least an airplane Private Pilot License with a valid SEP(land) rating and a valid aviation medical certificate class 1 or class 2 extended. This certificate is obtained through a licensed medical facility. In Girona you can find Servi-Trafic http://www.servitrafic.com/
